Prevention Day 2024

October 2nd

Take the day off!

Prevention Day

On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Prevention Day will be held, for the nineteenth time, in the country's primary and secondary schools. The prevention day is held every autumn and the focus is especially on young people in the 9th grade and in their first year of secondary school. On Prevention Day, students discuss the latest results of research on their age group and their ideas about socializing, sports and leisure activities and allowing the brain to develop and what effect these protective factors have on their lives. They work in groups and record their ideas; then responses are collected to find common denominators in their discussions. They then have the opportunity to participate in a game where they work with the elements that can reduce risky behavior. The awards will be presented at a ceremony in Bessastadir later in the year.

Who is responsible for Prevention Day?
